In this era of internet where we frequently use different on-line services like email, social media, e-commerce etc. for doing our day-to-day work, then there is no chance of ignoring the importance of a strong password and managing security of that password.
So I am writing this in-depth post to discuss different ways of creating strong, hard to crack password and keeping your password secure without being compromised.
Here is 5 important things regarding password security that you should remember when you will create or use your password:
Focus on these techniques when you create any password:
The very first thing is when you create your password follow some basic rules. Always create your password with proper mix of numbers, alphabets and special characters. Avoid using any simple words from dictionary that we frequently use. Try to create hard to guess words by using letters randomly then mix them with numbers and special characters.
Always create password of adequate length. Never create password which is too small.
Don’t leave your password unchanged for long time:
Update your password in frequent intervals. It’s a good practice to keep your password secure. Make it a habit.
Always keep all passwords in a secure place:
As you may have multiple accounts for different services then it is impossible to remember all passwords, so write those in a piece of paper for easy access. It not only helps you to organize all your passwords but also helps you to keep it safe. I use this practice.
All accounts have same password ! never ever do this:
Sometimes I have seen that some people use exactly same password for all of their accounts. You know how much unsafe it is. You are risking all your data of different accounts on a single password. So, I always say never use same password for all your accounts. Because by doing this you are making all your accounts unsafe.
Remember to logout:
Always remember to logout when you are not accessing your account from your own computer. It’s simple but sometimes people forget this.
So, just keep these tips regarding password security in mind and don’t ignore it.
