You have so many Email Ids but due to having multiple email accounts you have become lost!
It happens to most of the people who has multiple email accounts & due to the lack of time/ attention they totally forget to check those.
Sometimes after a long haul it comes in mind that oh o I had that email account created but due to so many pressure I have totally forgotten that.
It’s quite natural and it’s bound to happen if you have 10 (let’s say) different email accounts.
It can become even worse if you have given different email ids of yours to different people. After a certain time you will totally forgot to whom you have given which number.
Every day out of so many works it’s not always possible to check all email ids if you have so many accounts. Right?
So try to keep this thing in mind for increasing your productivity & keeping your professional image clean. There are also many other points, which will be discussed in this article.
I know if you are a curious mind like me then why you have so many different email accounts.
Because you have created all these accounts for experimental purpose or out of curiosity or for trying something new. It’s absolutely right, there nothing wrong in it.
But for work/ professional purpose always keep a fixed email id, at most 2 not more than that for the sanity of maintainability.
Why? That will be discussed in another article but for now let’s focus on why you shouldn’t use multiple email accounts for professional purpose?
#1. It creates confusion
For your own sake it can be really confusing. Why?
Because if you use so many different email accounts, after a certain time you will get confused regarding which email id is given to whom.
As an example, let’s say in a vital meeting you have given one of your email id to a very important person to whom you have met.
But the problem is you don’t use that email id on a frequent basis which you had totally forgotten.
So after returning back to home you are expecting a mail from him on which you guys had discussed. But you have totally missed that the mail id you have given is not being used anymore.
So can you imagine how much unprofessional behaviour is this & it only happens due to this confusion.
#2. It will distract you
Distraction, yes distraction! It’s matter of big distraction too. Why?
When you have so many different email ids, after a certain point of time you will forget which mail id is for what purpose.
So having multiple email accounts will distract you from your main goal due to the headache of keeping in mind all those things related to so many accounts.
#3. Reply will not be on time
When you will get distracted on managing multiple accounts then timely reply will never be possible from your end. It’s the fact.
And that’s exactly what I am talking about at this point. Due to having multiple email accounts after a certain time you will lose the trail.
One day suppose a person has sent you a vital mail which don’t access regularly then when you will read it after a certain time that will become too late.
But that person had sent you the mail due to urgency and expected a quick reply but the time you have reverted him back it was of no use.
So I hope you got my point.
#4. It will create a negative impact on your image
When you will not be able to give timely reply then after sometime people will definitely get offended due to it. So ultimately it will create a negative impact on your image.
And you must know that in professional sphere image is everything. If it get hampered then it’s really tough to recover. So never ever do it.
So these are the reasons for what I was telling you why having multiple email accounts are not good !
