So, Stop & Think twice, if you have received any random vCard & now going to open it with the iOS Messages App.
Because, if your device is powered any of the iOS version ranging from 8 to 10, it’s Messages App can be disabled forever! What? Yes.

Oh boy, that golden era is over! Nowadays your iOS powered devices are also not so secure.
Hacker Vencendes3 has shown the way how by a simple mechanism the Messages App of your iOS devices can be disabled permanently.
Though it’s not the first such hack but it’s really a significant one in its own way. So let’s find out more regarding how it works/ affects or it’s pattern of attack.
Here is the way how it’s explorer has explained it. You must have heard & used vCard. Right? A Simple Virtual Business Card which is primarily used to share contacts via your phone.
Vincendes3 has created one such vCard which is extremely complex by it’s formation.
Because a normal vCard comprised of 200-300 lines of code but here the number is above 14K. The exact number is 14,281, lines of code.
So when your messages app receives one such vCard & try to open it, Bang! It crashes. At that point of time there remain 2 options, either you restart the App or the Phone itself.
But then both the ways doesn’t help and you know which is responsible for that? The nature/ way of working of Messages App! How?
Because try to recall which message comes first when the App gets opened for the first time! The latest one right?
And the latest one comprised of that vCard in the affected phone, so each time it tries to open it, the app gets crashed. It becomes a vicious circle.
Now you must be thinking what is the way out, right? Don’t worry, Vincendes3 has just shown us a major loophole in how Messages App normally works.
After showing this he has provided a solution too by giving a link, opening which on the affected phone that can be fixed & in a Tweet, he has also shown another way of recovery.
One last thing, not only iOS devices but the Android devices are also getting affected from this.
So what are you thinking off?
