Identify, Analyse & Eliminate the factors which are slowing down the pace of blogging:
Don’t be confused by the phrase “pace of blogging”, here pace means the combination of frequency, speed & consistency in blogging with quality. If you can maintain a constant pace then only you can succeed in blogging. It seems very easy when you are reading this but believe me to maintain constant pace in blogging there need a very strict discipline and focus without any kind of distraction. But when your medium of work is through internet then it is quite easy to get distracted. Beside this there are also several other factors behind distraction which directly affect the blogging. But to excel in your blogging career you need to take care of these things very carefully.
In this post I will help you to identify, analyse & eliminate those factors which are affecting your pace of blogging.
Absence of proper Mind Map:
When you are starting to write on a topic at first create a detailed mind map on that topic. Mind map is a diagrammatic representation of information associated with your topic including focus areas & information flow. Suppose you have decided a topic which is very broad, so you will not be able cover the entire thing in a single blog post. Because you are not writing a complete book or journal. So create a detailed Mind Map with the specific sections you will cover in your post, than the entire process of conveying your message will be very easy. In another side a proper Mind Map can help you write smoothly without any crisis of thoughts. Using this you can convey a very targeted & to the point message to your reader.
Most of the cases people start writing immediately after getting a topic but that’s not the proper way of writing. You will just be lost in the ocean of information if you haven’t narrow down the main topic. It is not mandatory that you have to create Mind map but it is a streamlined approach which speed up your writing process.
Excessive social media addiction:
I know we are leaving in a era where different Social media has occupied a large portion of our life both personal & professional. If you are a blogger then social media plays a huge role regarding spreading your voice, promoting your content, getting new readers etc. But every thing you should do with a proper balance. If you blog, remember it is your content for which people will come to you regularly.
So when you are in the middle of writing then just focus on that for that. If you hop in different social network sites frequently during writing a topic, it’s not only distracting you but you will loose the momentum of writing. Suppose after writing two to three lines of content each time you are visiting social media accounts to see the latest updates, comments and other things. This type of frequent breaks sometimes just degrade your focus during writing.
Thinking always about SEO:
Yes SEO is really important to reach out the readers through search engines organically. But If you can’t write appealing content what you will optimize through SEO. But sometimes newbie bloggers spend a huge amount of time just by thinking different aspects of this. So from the very beginning they get exhausted and their primary focus is shifted from content. Here my advice is don’t be overwhelmed because SEO is vast area try to consume it slowly & steadily. So at first focus on content, write interesting content consistently then optimize it. If you maintain a constant pace every thing will be solved.
It is also related with properly created Mind map. Suppose you have prepared editorial index of different articles that you will write in next 1 week. But after started writing on a topic if you don’t have a mind map, after spending some time on a particular topic you start to feel exhausted and think i will write it later lets try a different topic. It is really a bad habit I called it Topic switching.
Remember when you have selected a topic give your full attention, effort, analysis on that topic. For that specific time don’t think about other topics. If you frequently jump from one topic to another then ultimately you will not be able to come up with a solid post. So stop Topic switching. Doing this you are just wasting your precious time.
Lack of Time management:
Efficient time management is also necessary to speed up blogging. At first make a proper time table & assign jobs for specific time. Don’t take it lightly, in blogging there are lots of tasks associated with it. If you don’t follow a time table then ultimately at the end of the day you will see that after spending rigorous hours still important things are left. So lack of time management is a vital issue which degrade your pace in blogging.
Workplace in a mess:
It is a very common problem for bloggers. As many of us work from home and maintain all the task single handed we sometimes ignore the cleanliness of our work area. But a Neat, clean & organised work area not only help us to find things easily, it also re energize ourselves and helps in focused writing. A haphazard workplace decrease the entire productivity dramatically. So keep a clean & well organized work area.
So these are the factors which affect the overall pace of blogging. I have shared the experience of mine what I feel. Now it is your turn to apply these and let me know what think on this.
