Karnataka State Electronics Development Corporation & BSNL jointly has taken an initiative to digitise Karnataka villages.
Through providing high-speed Internet access via Wi-Fi connectivity in all village areas. This initiative will help the locals of those regions in two ways.
Primarily local people will get access to the necessary internet based services. Secondarily, the local entrepreneurs will also be able to provide necessary services via internet to all the locals.
Apart from this, the entrepreneurs will also get a great opportunity access various marketplaces online for their products/ offerings.
So for a common villager, who is stuck somehow from getting all the essential online services, due to the lack of proper technology infrastructure, from now they will get a great opportunity to explore & expand.
As an entrepreneur one will be getting local as well as online market to expand the service & a platform to explore more on their own vertical via Internet.
Rest of all will get to use latest services online, which will make their life much swifter. Apart from all these benefits, our entire digital ecosystem will become much stronger.
Because think, if this initiative becomes successful & can be replicated to other rural/village areas of the country then how much boost will come from user base & usage perspective.
Overall penetration will reach much higher position, which will ultimately help the entire digital landscape.
More Users, more usage, more benefits, more number of transactions online and at the end of the day more prospects will be generated from all aspect.
So as a whole it will bring a big wave in India’s Socio-Economical scenario.
Now let’s find out more about this vibrant new initiative.
Initially this all new initiative has been rolled out as a pilot project in the headquarters of 11 panchayat. It’s now in the testing phase before getting expanded across the state.
But as it has been reported that, by March 2017, all 6000 panchayat headquarters will get this facility of free Wi-Fi connectivity with high-speed internet access.
The testing process has already been completed by the State IT Department. So a great opportunity is awaiting for all the people living in the remote villages of Karnataka.
From my point of view a really good initiative has been taken.
It will not only make the livelihood of the villagers better of those villages but it’s a big step towards Govt’s Digital India mission too.
